Petal arrived in early 2004. She was found on languishing on a garden, and the old note through the door trick has paid off again. First impressions were good but there was the inevitable rot to deal with and I think we just got to this before it became terminal.

The plan was to completely gut her and repair and replace as necessary. The aim was a powder pink mini with white roof, and flip front. Keeping the mechanics as standard as possible, but with the inevitable tweeks. An interior change was on the cars with Alfa seats and bespoke vinyl/leather work.

The rot was so bad that the bottom 6 inches of the car needed to be replace, and this turned into my learn to weld project.

The majority of the welding was completed in the summer of 2004, but from then on other minis and family matters got in the way of progress, and only recently Petal was sold locally as a rolling shell.
