Parcels are now classified as small, medium and large.
Small parcels dimensions no greater than 45cm x 35cm x 8cm, and no heavier than 2kg
Medium parcels dimensions no greater than 61cm x 46cm x 46cm, and no heavier than 20kg.
Anything else is a large parcel and will not be catered for by Royal Mail counter services, but rather Parcel Force.
The weight categories have also been reduced meaning wider bands for pricing.
In summary, and with the inherent difficulties in designing a computer system which will be able to determine the dimensions of a parcel required to ship multiple items, all items needing a package larger than a "Large Letter" will be considered a "Medium" sized package. In the event that when an order is packaged and is falls into the "Small" Parcel category, a refund will be made.
Domestic packages over 1kg will now be sent by courier.
These changes do not affect Overseas.
