One word of note which is worthy of mention. At this time, the summer of 2003, I did not have the welding skills I have now, and on reflection I would have attempted to have saved this mini. Apart from the bodyshell being completely shot, the rest of the car was mechanically sound and complete which is not common.
What remained was about enough for a trailer, but unfortunately, later on this had to be dismantled aswell. The rot worm had got to the outer arches, inner arches, boot floor, valance, closing panels, even the welded bolts in the sill cavity were beyond repair.
In reflection the only metalwork which was not rotted through was the bonnet, roof ( but someone had walked over that ) and rear seatbelt mounting plates.
